With the loving care that Illinois Briddog Rescue gave her through their foster home system, she became a happy, playful young girl. Her fear issues appear to be in the past and she couldn't be more happier.

She's a sweet young lady, as many of Illinois Birddog Rescue dogs are, sweet. With patience and love most of them can be the forever pet one is looking for. Some may take more time to come around than others, but in the end, Illinois Birddog Rescue finds the right match for both the dog and the human. The only thing these dogs want in life is to make someone happy. Through kisses, hugs, and always being there for you, how could you not want one of these dogs.

Illinois Birddog Rescue and the foster families that take these unwanted dogs into their homes, treat them as one of their own. They teach them the manners that are expected in any home. When an adopter receives one of Illinois Birddog Rescue's dogs, they are getting a dog that has adjusted to a family life situation. Not a outside pen, nor a kennel 24/7, but instead, a dog that behaves in the house, snuggles at your feet, and is 100% devoted to making you happy.

See, I should know, because as a foster family to Siouxsie, we also fell in love with her and WE ARE her new adopted family. In less than 2 short weeks of having her in our home, we knew that this young lady had all the qualities one could possibly look for in a dog. And those fears she had, afraid of men, loud children, well that has never shown it's ugly side. She may be a little edgy around strangers, but hey, who isn't at times. She has so much love to show you, that it was an easy decision to add a 4th dog to our family.

Bottom Line, Illinois Birddog Rescue is a top quality rescue and with all their efforts from all their volunteers, you get a loving companion for years to come. I'm playing with one of the other dogs. And I get along with the other 2 as well. They're older and don't play.

My foster mom says I am doing good with the heeling on the leash. We went for a walk one on one and I didn't pull too much. When walking with the "pack" I did fine. All 4 of us got along.

I met some strange men walking the other night, and although I backed up as they approached me, one wanted to pet me, I was sitting waiting for them to pass, I sat calmly and didn't freak out. I also came across some kids. 5 to be exact. They wanted to pet us, and as we sat for them, I didn't get scared when I was petted. But you want to hear something really cool, this neighbor man came up to our fence and I WENT TO HIM. I kissed his fingers through the fence AND I even jumped up on the fence so he could pet my head. YEAH!

I have shown my foster mom that I know what sit & come means. And I'm learning what "wait" means, so I don't dash out the door.

Well, that's it for now. I'll keep you posted, but as I said be for, I'm going to try really hard to conquer my fears and I have a good start on them.
Bye.

Hi. My Name Is Siouxsie

Although my name may be a little different (it's pronounced Susie) I am an English Setter. A few of the things my foster mom has noticed about me so far are; housebroken, quiet, fun loving, don't get on furniture, love chasing squirrels and birds. My foster mom also says, I listen well for just being at her house only a couple days. I have 3 foster sisters I can play with and they all like me. I'm easy going and laid back when in the house. I like to play with squeaky toys and chew rawhide sticks in the house. I don't jump up on counters and I like being petted. Saving the best for last, I'm Adorable!

Well after mentioning all my good qualities, I have to tell you that I do have some fears that I haven't shown my foster family yet, and really I rather not. I'm told they are, men in baseball caps, and loud children. Also, I haven't learned to heel on a leash yet either, but I'm learning that now along with sit and come.

With a safe and loving home and patience to teach me, I'll do my best to get past those things. Hey, nobody is perfect afterall, but I hope to conquer as much as possible in due time. There's always Hope. I do know that I don't hide in a thunderstorm! And I do the setter "talk" :o) It's so cute. Too bad no one understands it. When I get excited I can really shake my bootie! I wiggle my little butt so fast my whole body shakes :o)

Okay. Enough about my Pro's and Con's. I'm a young girl, around 2yrs old. I have very soft hair, mostly jet black and white, but with a touch of brown on my face and legs, that I don't mind having combed. I'm of average height and I keep a girlish figure. I had a sore on my tail, so it's not in full bloom quiet yet, but it'll be pretty when it grows out.

I'm waiting for my fur-ever home and I know the wait will be well worth it. Until you adopt me, I'll be in my foster home playing and learning new things, just for you.

If you are interested in me or my many other foster waiting friends, please visit us at Illinois Birddog Rescue. I've included their link below.

Illinois Bird Dog Rescue

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://siouxsie-ibr.blogspot.com/2006/07/hi-my-name-is-siouxsie_24.html' title='Hi. I get plenty of excersie running, running and more running. But I've noticed that I'm the one all hot and bothered they just sit and watch me as they eat their walnuts in the tree. So I had this brilliant idea, I would just sit and wait. They can't stay up there forever. It's so much cooler this way.
